Denise Martin has a heart for community projects and wanted to do a uniform and school supplies drive in the summer of 2010 at Lindenwood.  She approached the ministerial staff who asked Denise if she would like to help revivie the Adopt-A-School program.  Lindenwood had adopted Shannon Elementary School in the past but the program had not had a leader for sometime.  She contacted the principle at Shannon Elem and the rest is history!  Since then, Denise has coordinated uniform drives, backpacks filled to the brim with school supplies, winter coats, a Christmas shopping store (academic incentive based), and food packs for the children to have meals over the weekend at their homes.

Lindenwood's congregation has provided tutoring, prizes for attendance contests, and enough coats for every child to have one as well as hats and gloves!

What can YOU do to help?  Watch for volunteer opportunities and outreach efforts.

Upcoming Events:  Considering a book drive for Spring 2012 so the children can have books at home.

Please contact Denise Martin with your interest or questions: denisemartin@bellsouth.net
